A Plein Air Experience with Capizzo showcases artists that participate in a multi-day, outdoor painting event taking place in the Saugatuck-Douglas area. Artists have a total of 6 days to complete their paintings with two competitions taking place on Friday and Saturday.
Alongside artist demonstrations by well known plein air painters Jim Johnson and Henry Arthur Jens, this event holds two receptions that will display the work created during the week.

Mateo Leon Solo Exhibition
Exhibition: Sept 17-28
Opening Reception: Sept 18, 6-8pm
Originally from Mexico, Mateo studied art at different art schools in Mexico, California, Ohio, and Texas. He leans towards abstract painting, primarily using oil and acrylic. Occasionally, he will make smaller work with charcoal. Lately he has started experimenting in wood and metal sculpting. His work covers a variety of styles and palettes. He has resided in the Holland/Saugatuck area for the last five years and has been a represented artist at Capizzo for three.
Kathy kosins: solo exhibition

Critically acclaimed jazz vocalist, composer, and visual artist Kathy Kosins brings her two creative worlds together in Harmonic Convergence, a solo exhibition exploring the connection between jazz improvisation and abstract painting. Working intuitively with color, gesture, texture, and movement, Kosins translates the rhythm, energy, and emotion of music into spontaneous visual compositions—creating what she describes as “jazz on canvas.”
