George Roger
African-American Sculptor, printmaker, clay modeler born in Alabama and active in the Detroit area. He was the first Black clay modeler for the Ford Motor Company and has many sculptures in the Detroit area. He was also a co-founder of Gallery Seven in Detroit which represented Black abstract artists. His accomplishments and awards are many. He also created his own printmaking process which he called "sculpturegraphs". His work is just now being reintroduced to the public.
